Library Presentation
Over the summer, after our last season had ended, we organized a presentation at the Green Cove public Library in which we worked with over 20 kids. During this event we did a brief presentation about STEAM and FIRST. We encouraged the kids to ask questions about both subjects, and to share their own information about them as well. We then assisted the kids in constructing catapults both out of Legos and everyday household items. We worked to introduce them to the concepts of the design process as they tried to use their own problem-solving skills. Also, during this event, we spoke with various parents who had questions about the programs and provided them with information on how both them and their children could become involved in the STEAM community. Overall, we had great success with this presentation as all of the kids were engaged in the activity and felt comfortable asking questions.
FBLA Christmas Drive
This year, our team participated in the Christmas gift drive on December 12th with the Future
Business Leaders of America Club, where 5 of
our members got together to work with their
club, and filled gift bags for people who
couldn’t afford to get Christmas presents. They received soap, clothes, toothbrushes, candy, snacks, and other miscellaneous objects.

Santa Run

Members of our team worked with our school’s Society of Physics Students to help organize a Santa Run in Jacksonville. During this event, members of our team assisted in the set-up of the race, handed our water, and helped to award winners with medals.
